Abstract Aim To re-evaluate antibiotic use in the management of acute pancreatitis at our hospital. Method This retrospective closed loop audit incorporated patients with admitted to hospital between 01/04/22 and 30/06/22. The initial was conducted 2020. gold standard guidelines published by World Society Emergency Surgery (2019). Data sources included patient paper notes, clinical results prescribing software. Results 44 presented during re-audit period; 80 were audit. 22 (50%) received antibiotics, compared 47 (59.1%) Co-amoxiclav most used (10 patients, 46.2%). 19 (86.3%) receiving antibiotics had mild or moderate (on Modified Glasgow Score); whereas (29, 61%) severe pancreatitis.
